merseybeat.co.uk is
an innovative new website specialising in rock and pop memorabilia
which has been four years in the planning by a team with extensive
experience in the field of popular music.
Each month, additional memorabilia will be added to the site,
mostly of an exclusive nature not obtainable elsewhere – and
all fully licensed. Head consultant is Bill Harry, recipient of a gold award from
BASCA (British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors)
for his services to the British music industry.
He originally coined the term ‘Mersey Beat’ and
launched a newspaper of that name and later became news editor
of Record Mirror and columnist for Record Retailer, Music Now
and other publication before becoming personal press agent to
over thirty major stars including the Hollies, Pink Floyd, Kinks,
Jethro Tull, David Bowie, Free, Led Zeppelin, the Beach Boys,
Suzi Quatro and Kim Wilde.
